STATEMENT BY GODANA GODANA-THE PRESIDENT OF THE SAKUYE YOUTH COUNCIL(SYC)*h


*Asc Sakuye Youth*

I am humbled beyond words to have been elected as the leader of the Sakuye Youth Council.
Indeed, it's a huge responsibility heaped on my shoulders but i can assure you all that am equal to the task before me.

I shall be very proactive in promoting and advocating for the welfare of sakuye youth in the entire county as I have been doing before.The only difference right about now is that I have the mandate of the youth solidly behind me which is a very invaluable aspect of this Council.

I wish to now call upon all our young people from all corners of this county to unite and give the council the strength it needs to efficiently source for opportunities from different offices and individuals.

This process has been a long time coming and with the grace of Allah(swt), we have at last come to a solution.
The Sakuye youth have been longing for a voice to represent them.
Today we have that voice in the form of SYC. I promise to always play by the constitution of the council and shall always be ready for consultation from our members(including members of the sakuye public) before making any substantive decision.I shall always be here with you and will strive to fulfil the wishes of the noble people that have given me this beautiful identity as Sakuye.
Am very proud of the fact that am Sakuye indeed!

In achieving harmony and cohesiveness among us, I shall closely work with the council members, all our regional youth leaders,Elders, leaders and other individuals of high standing in the house of the Mighty Sakuye Nation.

Going forward, we shall be rolling out a number of activities in all parts of Isiolo County to profile our youth and register them so that we verify our number and also be able to find out who among us are the neediest.
In achieving this, the council shall need support from all corners of the sakuye fraternity.

A time has come now to look out for each other in sharing our joys and sorrows as ONE people.

As a council, we expect challenges,false starts and hindrances to the activities of the council. In all of this, we expect the Sakuye Youth to stand with us in realizing our collective dream to change the plight of the Sakuye Youth for the better.
It should be incumbent upon all of us that the council derives its strengths directly from the Sakuye Youth. You are the people that made this Council, we call upon you once again to enable us deliver on our promises to you.

Thanks once again for giving me the opportunity to serve YOU!
